January 2018

We had several of our regular events in January – the first and third Friday casual dinner meetings, Lunatic Fringe and Lurching Toward Oblivion; the Monday Enchilada, Nachos, and Salsa Adventure (a.k.a. MENSA); History SIG; Gourmet SIG; the monthly speaker meeting in Matthews; and a Youth Games Day in Mint Hill. Pictures are out there somewhere… so if you have any, please share! Email them to webmaster@cbrmensa.org, or just post them on Facebook – we can grab them from there.

The topic for the Main Monthly Meeting was “A Hacker’s Guide to Anonymizing Networks and the Information Highway.” Yes, internet security. The 49th Security Division, a UNCC student group, sent someone out to explain how we can keep our private data private and be more secure on the web. It was a very engaging presentation, with a lot of members asking questions.
We hope you can join us for an event this month!
